Monterey County Science Fair Results!
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 3:01PM On Sunday, March 7, students, parents and friends from middle schools and high schools all over the county gathered at CSU Monterey Bay eagerly anticipating the announcement of the winners. Once again, York School was proudly represented by outstanding student scientists that had devoted many long hours to the scientific process. Eighth graders participated in the junior divisions; all 9th through 12th grade students were entered in the senior divisions for each category.
This year, the Monterey County Science Fair chose three additional outstanding projects, in addition to the Grand Prize winner, to send to the 2010 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. In the Senior Division, Jeremy Blalock was selected as the Grand Prize third runner up, and he will enter the Intel ISEF competition to be held in San Jose with his project, entitled “The Potential for Electroactive Polymers as Actuators in a Reflected Light Display Modeled on Cuttlefish Skin Behavior” in May. Congratulations, Jeremy!
Also deserving high praise were the many winners in individual categories, which included the following categorical awards:

*will advance to the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles in May.
