New Neighbor Discovered in the Outdoor Lab

Twelve months ago York School acquired over 100 acres for a multi-use outdoor lab from the US Army. Now the area is used for a wide variety of academic and athletic purposes. Earlier this week Ms. Kiest and Mr. Brookhouser set up an infrared motion detecting camera in the Outdoor Lab to see what kind of wildlife inhabit the area. After the first night, Ms. Kiest poured over thousands of photos (the motion sensor may have been turned up too high), but eventually she discovered an image of a bobcat (Lynx rufus).
