Heads Up: The 2013 Parent Survey and the Town Hall Meeting

To York Parents:

As York parents, you are the School’s partners in our mission, and we rely on that partnership as a vital component of the successful York experience.  Good communication is essential to that partnership, and we are always interested in your feedback, so we invite you to participate in a parent survey, which is being sent to you in a separate email today, Friday, September 13.  If you are the parent of a new student at York this year, your survey will include some important additional questions.

We have regularly offered surveys like this in the past, but this year, it’s particularly important to us to hear from you because this is an accreditation year for York, and we would appreciate your input for the self-study report we are preparing as part of the accreditation process.  Your participation is important, and we would like the survey to be returned by Sept. 27.

On Wednesday, September 18 the York Parents organization meets in a special "Town Hall" setting, with myself, trustees and some faculty and staff. The survey and the accreditation process are on the agenda.

We are inviting you to be part of the strategic planning process for the School and help shape our shared vision for York’s future. We will meet at 7 p.m. in the York Coburn Chapel because we expect a big crowd. I hope you will make every effort to attend and participate.

Chuck Harmon, Head of School
