Ellen Masten, Director of College Counseling

As a native daughter of Carmel and previously a teacher of Spanish at York, Ellen Masten is returning home after an educational odyssey that has taken her all over Europe and the Americas.

For over twenty years she has taught and advised students as an international student advisor, world language department chair, K-12 Spanish teacher, college professor, ESL/EFL teacher/coordinator, and academic and college counselor. In her many years in independent schools – she is herself a graduate of one - Ellen learned the value of a close-knit community, caring teachers, and a nurturing environment like York. She is very excited to be back at York School, and she looks forward to working with such a diverse and creative student body.
