What YOU Make Possible
Inspire excellence. Change lives.
York School succeeds in its mission to inspire and prepare a diverse community of creative, independent thinkers with the help of friends and supporters who believe in that mission and invest in our students, faculty, programs, and campus. We thank you, our donors, for making this extraordinary community possible. Below are some examples of your donations at work.
With your support, we created a “Design Shop” that promotes hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation.
Using items such as laser-cutters, soldering irons, routers, and 3D scanners and printers, York students apply what they learn in the classroom by creating things in the Design Shop. This project distinguishes York as the first high school in the Monterey Bay area with dedicated “Makers Space” on campus.
Our faculty set high standards and use creative approaches to engage their students in relevant and deep learning.
Professional development experiences, funded by donations to the Endowment for Faculty Support, are as varied as our teachers. For both the new and the veteran educator, professional growth inspires new approaches, encourages innovation, and promotes collaboration.
York has always believed – and research strongly supports – students learn better in a diverse community. The 40 percent of students who could not otherwise afford the opportunities offered at York enrich everyone’s experience. We share the stories of two current students who have benefited from financial aid and also greatly enhanced the York community.
