Alfred Diaz-Infante Apartments at East Garrison accepting pre-applications

The Monterey Herald reported that the affordable housing complex—named in honor of a former York parent and Trustee—The Alfred Diaz-Infante Apartments are now accepting occupancy pre-applications!
The complex consists of 66 affordable housing apartments—43 of which are reserved for currently employed or retired agricultural workers—and is named for the Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association's President and CEO, and York Trustee and parent, Alfred Diaz-Infante, who passed away unexpectedly in 2021.

A native of Salinas and son of farmworker parents, Diaz-Infante dedicated his career to creating hundreds of homes for low-income families.  CHISPA Director of Real Estate Development, Dana Cleary, shared with the Herald, “We wanted to name it after Alfred to honor him.  It was something we always wanted to do after his death.”
