Host an International Student

We are currently looking for family to host an AFS international student for the 2017-18 school year.

These students come to the U.S. from more than 90 countries, with some on special programs from predominantly Muslim countries, from Germany, or from former Soviet Union republics. Hosting one of these students is a very personal way to foster peace and understanding. AFS is one of the premier exchange programs with a longstanding reputation for student and host family support. It is formed on a strong base of local volunteers in communities throughout the world, supported by some paid staff. York School has hosted students on the AFS exchange program almost every year for the past 30 years. Host families do not receive a stipend. (Families interested in hosting students from China on the Cambridge GP program do receive a monthly stipend.)

The sooner a family is found the more choice we have in available students. Now is the time.

If you would like more information on AFS or Cambridge (Chinese students) Programs, please contact York International Student Dean, Pamela Sanford psanford@york.org.
