The boys lacrosse team started the 2018 season with handful of veteran returners - including captains Jared Aldape Duron '18, Matthew Galloway '20, and Joe Larse '18 - who were charged with guiding a large rookie class though a very challenging schedule. Any coach knows that this can either lead to productive growth or continual frustration.
With characteristic York grit and intelligence, the boys responded beautifully - working hard before and after practice to improve their individual skills while refining their understanding of offensive strategy and team defense.
The boys have taken their share of tough losses this season, but have bounced back from each with renewed sense of purpose. Notably, they have beaten rival PCS in three close match-ups, a tall task for any team. Looking forward, the boys are excited about about the emergence of several underclassmen as outstanding starters, including stalwart goalkeeper Jason Mao along with defenseman Leo Burks and Colin Hodges. The future of York boys' lacrosse looks bright.
