York Water Polo VS Salinas
Posted 10/23/2019 08:14AM
York Water Polo was back in action, coming off of fall break. It was senior night, and it was great to have a big turnout to support York’s seniors: Matt Galloway, Madison Kimball, Sophia Sanico, and Micheal Scholis.
In their first game back after Fall Break, York JV faced off against Salinas. After a strong defensive first quarter, Tristan Pfleger '23 and Will Hand '23 found the net in the second quarter. In the third quarter Peter Sheng '23 got into the scorebook with his first goal of the season. Ultimately, York JV was out-countered, but continue to grow as a team as the season progresses.
In their third and final game against Salinas this season, York Varsity was determined to improve off their second contest with Salinas. With a final score of 8-12 the game was competitive and hard fought from start to finish, and the seniors shined in the spotlight. Matt Galloway '20 and Sophia Sanico '20 each had two goals, while Micheal Scholis '20 had one goal. Leo Del Toro '21, Sophia Sanico and Oscar Fadem '22 each drew multiple ejections, and many of them led to goals. York hopes to bring the same intensity and team play into their final four games of the season.
