Sarah Stoker '21, Gabrielle Schmidt '21 and Courtney Hand '21 participated in the county competition for National History Day sponsored by the Monterey County Lyceum. The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past, and this year's theme is Breaking Barriers in History. All three of our students received Colonial Dames Awards. Gabrielle ("Eleanor Roosevelt: Revolutionizing the Role of the First Lady") and Courtney ("Child Labor: Breaking Barriers in Federal Legislation") are "County Winners" and will be advancing to the state competition in May.
