Parent Survey Results: College Counseling
Posted 01/19/2016 01:00PM

Dear Parents,

In our survey during the fall of this year, one of the topics that generated several comments and questions was college counseling. Those comments included requests for an additional survey on this topic, and here it is.

We know that for many of our families, this is an important topic. Our goal is to provide a college counseling process that is comprehensive, highly professional, and humane – that is, we believe that by providing good information and a supportive, knowledgeable counselor, we can reduce the anxiety that some students and parents feel about college admissions.

In order to know how to better serve you, we need your feedback, so PLEASE take a few moments and complete this survey. It is designed to ask some general questions, then target specific aspects of our program that are available to younger and to older students. Regardless of the grade level(s) you represent as parents, there is useful feedback that you can provide for us.

In addition to the many resources we provide (some of which are referenced in the survey), all of us, especially Ellen Masten, Sean Raymond, Joyce Sherry and myself are eager to hear your concerns, respond to your questions, and accept your suggestions. Our monthly parent coffees often touch on this topic, and it’s clear to me that there is a lot of information to share about BOTH the college admission process AND York’scollege counseling program. This survey is a great place to start.

The survey will close Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. PST and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. I look forward to reading your (anonymous/confidential) responses and reporting back to you on the results.

Thank you for your partnership.
