Accepting Applications for the 2019-20 School Year

Here are all the things you need to know about the process:
Tuesday - Thursday
We encourage students to experience York first-hand by visiting campus with a student host. Visiting campus is the best way to see life as a York student. Contact the Admission Office at 831.372.7338 x115 or 116 to schedule a visit. For more info check out Visit York.Monday, November 12 - Veterans Day: Group Visit Day for Prospective Students
York is in session on November 12, the observed Veterans Day holiday. To accommodate busy schedules we are offering a modified, group visit opportunity. Please call the Admission Office for details or RSVP here.
Visits begin on Wednesday, October 17. No visits on October 25 or 31, November 1, Thanksgiving week, January 3 or 10, February 7 or 18.
10/27, 11/10, 12/8, 1/5, 1/19, 2/2 | 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Testing begins at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Meet in room 20 of the Science Building. Seating is limited; call to make a reservation. There is no fee. Parents: please join us for a Q & A session in room 20 of the Science Building at 10:30 a.m.
The Admission Assessment consists of two sections:
1. Mathematics Assessment, 35 minutes total
• mathematical relationships
• mathematical concepts—fractions, decimals, percentages, lowest common denominator, ratios, word problems, simple geometry, data analysis
2. English Assessment, 60 minutes total
• verbal analogies
• sentence mechanics
• reading comprehension
• writing sample
Online Submission or Postmark Deadline 2/1/2019The priority deadline for your application with $80 fee ($175 for international applicants) is due by February 1. We encourage families to submit an application as soon as possible in order to receive priority interview scheduling. Applications can be submitted online here.
Email or Postmark Deadline 2/1/2019
The Admission Office should receive all three recommendations (English, Math, Principal or Counselor) no later than February 1 for priority consideration. Online recommendation requests are available in the online application student profile. We will accept emailed copies if received directly from the teacher's email address or you may download PDF recommendation forms here.
Postmark Deadline 2/1/2019
The Admission Office should receive a current, official transcript no later than February 1 for priority consideration, reflecting marks from the previous year through the first semester of the current year. An online transcript request is available in the online application student profile. Download a PDF transcript request form here.
January 15-March 1
When your file is complete (application, all recommendations, transcript, visit day, and York admission assessment results), the Admission Office will contact you to set up an interview. This 15-minute conversation on campus is for the applicant with two members of the Faculty Admission Committee. We want to get to know you and give you the opportunity to ask questions about York’s programs and community.
