Last week marked a transitional period atop the York Hill. With the wrapping up of fall sports and the play, Pippin, students had to say goodbye to their teammates and fellow theater members. We didn’t go out without a bang though; girls’ tennis won their final match against Stevenson, and the musical was a huge success.
Girls’ field hockey ended on a happy note with a close game against Christopher. As one of the two seniors on the team, I played my last game of field hockey with the Lady Falcons last Thursday. This begins the series of many goodbyes in my York experience, but I am embracing the carpe diem motto and savoring every minute remaining here at York!
Even though some doors are closing, others are opening. Winter sports are now in full swing, and the girls’ soccer team is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with. The seniors are scrambling to get their UC applications in on time, and we are looking to our future years as college students.
However I don’t want to get too caught up in these changes; we still have a lot to look forward to this year! The holiday season is fast-approaching, and before we know it finals will be upon us. But most importantly, I know all the York Falcons will be here for me as I finish this chapter and look toward the next.
