York is always buzzing with activity. Since the start of 2015, I've already been on a trip to Yosemite, participated in a MUN (Model United Nations) conference, taken the American Mathematics Competition Test, worked on building a robot, got accepted to a summer internship at the Naval Post-graduate School, and planned a stress-relieving “Bubble-Wrap” Day with Student Council. The sophomore class is planning Winter Ball, Winter Sports are wrapping up, and course planning meetings are starting for next year. At York there is always something going on, so I am never bored. I am always amazed at how much I have been able to accomplish with the support of my teachers and fellow Yorkies. From collaborating with a classmate to write a five-page paper on Small Arms and Light Weapons Trade in Latin America, to practicing in the rain with the soccer team, collaboration and teamwork have been a big part of my York experience. York is unique because you can make your experience here anything you want it to be. There are no cuts from sports teams, it is super easy to get involved in clubs and other activities, and teachers are understanding, supportive, and work hard to help you succeed. I am excited to continue my last semester of sophomore year, and to start track and softball season!
