Name: Michael Hein
Grade: 10 - Class of 2018
Previous School: Monterey Bay Education Center
My sophomore year has been fantastic so far! I am enjoying all my classes, especially the challenge of chemistry. Like most 10th graders, I will deliver my sophmore speech in front of the whole school in January. I have a few more months to prepare, and hope to improve my public speaking skills. Basketball season started and with it, the need to balance school and sports. At York, I am learning how to manage my time and demonstrate responsibility, so I usually try to finish all my homework before practice.
Once every cycle, we have PATH, which is when the school gathers into small groups to discuss topics related to school and suggestions to improve campus life. In the last PATH meeting, we really focused on resolving some issues students had addressed. These are the aspects that define the strong York community. We come together to resolve problems and make each individual happy to be at school. I look forward to the rest of my sophomore year and many more days to come on our sunny York hilltop.
