Name: Isabelle Sharp
Grade: 10 - Class of 2018
Previous School: Junipero Serra School
I am a sophomore in my second year at York School. So far, I have participated in multiple events and activities, including student government. Each grade at York has their own student council, and there is an executive council that is in charge of the entire school. Currently, elections for Executive Student Council are taking place. Students running for positions have announced their candidacies to the school and are hanging up entertaining posters all around campus. Soon, they will make speeches to the student body, and we will vote for the new executive government!
This year, I am treasurer of my class, and I now realize how fortunate I am to be a part of student council. I have learned many invaluable lessons, such as the importance of teamwork, how to be a leader, and how to plan and organize events efficiently. I’ve also gained experience in dealing with money. I am so glad that I decided to run for student council, and I feel like I have gained so much because of it. I would definitely recommend running for office to incoming students. I’m planning on running for class secretary next year!
