Fall Sports Updates 2016

Today is officially autumn and time to check in on some of our fall sports teams!

Water Polo

Water Polo is off to a strong start. In its first game at the varisty level, a truly team effort led to a Falcon victory with scoring coming from six players: Connor Barringer '19, Ethan Ertl '17, Connor Goodson '17, Arjun Mayur '19, Sophia Sanico '20, and Téo Sanico '17. Week two was also a success when the Falcons outscored Alvarez 10-5 (goals by Connor '19, Connor '17, and Téo '17).

Cross Country

York hosted the first Cross Country Coastal Center Meet with a total of 121 runners participating.

Summary results:

  • Varsity Boys placed 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 12, and 20 to win their race
  • Varsity Girls did an amazing job placing third overall with all but one running competing in her first cross country race ever!
  • JV Boys all gave solid efforts in finishing second overall


Overall, the team is 4-1 in MTAL Coastal league play! This week, the girls took on and beat Greenfield, 3-0 (match scores: 25-18, 25-11, 25-14). Jesslyn De Anda '18  had 9 kills, 6 aces; Hannah Ray '17 had 13 assists, 2 aces; Katie Calciano '19 had 9 assits, 5 aces; Raina Shamszadeh '19 had 7 kills, 2 aces.

Falcon volleyball next plays Marina this afternoon at York.
