What a week for York field hockey! In a spirited contest on a beautiful day, York recorded it's first win of the season with a shutout victory over Greenfield. A thrilling finish saw York score with 23 seconds left on the clock, breaking the defensive struggle and logging a 1-0 victory!! Kate Baughn caught fire in the closing minutes to push York to victory and Emma Cushing turned in another outstanding performance in the goal. Go Falcons!!
This past Tuesday York Volleyball took down Marina 3 games to 0 by the scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-23. Standout performers were Katie Calciano (10) with 6 kills while Polina Cobb (12) and Maddie Sharp (11) provided excellent defensive coverage with 10 and 7 digs respectively.
York Water Polo finished up their Monterey Bay League - Pacific Division season last evening with a tough 5-3 loss to MBL/Pacific Division Champion Monterey.
The WP Team played their first Varsity level season and compiled a 7 win and 7 loss record in the MBL/Pacific Division.
York is now awaiting the results of a tie breaking decision to see if they qualify for the season ending Pacific Division Tournament.

York School participated in the 12 team Monterey Trails Athletic League 5000 meter Cross Country meet this past Thursday in Pacific Grove. Boys' varsity showed well with a 5th place finish while the girls ended up in 9th. The boys' top performer was senior Washakie Tibbets (12) with a time of 17:33 which was good for 13th place out of a possible 85 runners. The top performer for the girls was senior Jennie Racoosin (12) with an overall time of 24:01.

York 4, Pacific Grove 3 >> Hana Cooper (12) and Morgan Johancen (12) were both singles winners as the Falcons edged Pacific Grove. Claire Galloway (12) and Amy Cho (11), and Jenny Liu (11) and Madison Kimball (9) were doubles winners for York. The Girls overall record for the season so far stands at 4 wins and 5 losses with three matches remaining.
