The end of October saw the majority of York Athletic teams wrap up a busy slate of completion. Below is a summary of a very successful Fall Season:
Boys Cross Country’s quest for excellence continues as they recently qualified for the State meet in Fresno on Saturday, November 26 with a second place finish in the CCS championships. They finished their regular season as MTAL Coastal League Champions with an undefeated record of 6-0. Congratulations to All League Selections Kaden Agha ’18, Adam Shapiro ’19, and Washakie Tibbetts ’17 for a tremendous season.
Girls Volleyball had a very successful season with a 2nd place finish in MTAL finishing with an overall league Record of 10 wins against 2 losses. Jesslyn DeAnda ’18 and Emily Patz ’20 have been named to the All League team.
Boys Water Polo finished up their first varsity season with a competitive 4th place finish in MBL Pacific with an overall record of 7 wins and 7 losses. All League Honors have gone to Téo Sanico ’17, Connor Goodson ’17, and Jojo McGuire ’18. Connor has also been named to the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Team.
Girls Tennis wrapped up their league slate with an overall 4th place finish and a league record of 5 wins and 7 losses. Lauren Sugar ’18 was selected to the All League team by finishing as the 2nd place singles player. Hana Cooper ’17 has been named to the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Team.
Girls Field Hockey finished their spirited campaign 10th Place finish in the league with an overall record of 1 win 10 losses. All League Honors were awarded to Emma Cushing ’17, Kate Baughn ’17, and Ariana Rodd ’18. Betsy Sugar ’17 has been named to the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Team.
Girls Cross Country closed their MTAL Coastal season in 4th place with a league record 1 win and 5 losses. All League honors have gone to Genevieve Roeder-Hensley ’17.
