Girls Soccer Finishes Season with Second Place
In the second half of the season, York girls soccer went on a glorious run with four wins in a row against Trinity 3-1, Ceiba 3-1, at Anzar 1-0 and at Oakwood 1-0.
Maddie Gill '23 scored her first goal for York and Esmie Ortiz '22 her first of the season. We were then unlucky to lose our last two games against Ceiba 0-1 and Marina 1-3 but finished 2nd overall in the league. The defence of Zibby Lindstrom '22, Sophia Sanico'20, Heather Galinato'22 and Josefina Camacho '20 really came together and was a tough nut to crack. Sooyeon Kim '20 was stellar in goal and Cynthia Ortiz-Naranjo '21 finished the season with 14 goals. The foundation for next season looks very solid!
