Election Forum
York School is immensely grateful to Congressman Panetta, Mr. Gordon, Mr. Laird, and Ms. Nohrden for their participation in our Election Forum on Wednesday, October 7. It was incredible to hear these candidates speak on topics important to the York student body. We hope, as a result of this forum, students feel more empowered to be part of the Democratic process and to use the influence that they do have to engage not only those in local, state, and national offices but also those they directly interact with on a familial level.
Kudos to the Activism Club for hosting an amazing forum! A special appreciation goes to Courtney Hand ‘21 for stepping into the role of moderator with her abundance of grace, poise, determination, and joy. This forum is the result of the diligent efforts of Courtney, Gabrielle ‘21, Camilla ‘21, Casey ‘22, Celeste ‘22, Sydney ‘22, Maddie ‘23, the other 15 club members, Ms. Williston, and Mrs. Moneypenny. Of course, gratitude also goes to Ms. Khieu and Mr. Brookhouser for facilitating the technology.
