York School offers a college-preparatory education that fosters intellectual curiosity, self-discovery, and the development of confident, authentic leaders. Our students build meaningful relationships with dedicated, high-quality teachers while exploring their roles as ethical and engaged members of a multicultural world.
York welcomes remarkable students from all backgrounds, regardless of a family’s financial circumstances. Our Financial Aid program reflects our commitment to socio-economic diversity and ensures that a York education is both accessible and affordable. By reducing financial barriers, we strive to make it possible for every admitted student to fully participate in and benefit from the exceptional learning community York provides.
FINANCIAL AID
No student or family should feel limited in applying to York because of financial concerns. York is committed to partnering with families to ensure that cost is not a barrier to a York education. Through our robust financial aid program, tuition is tailored to reflect each family’s individual circumstances and ability to invest in their child’s future.
More than 60% of York families receive financial assistance. This commitment to accessibility strengthens our community and ensures that York remains a place where talented students from all backgrounds can thrive.
Clarity Tuition
To make the most fair and equitable estimate of a family's ability to pay tuition, we utilize Clarity Tuition, which analyzes individual financial statements and recommends an amount that each family can afford to spend on a child's education. Clarity Tuition estimates the amount you can contribute to school expenses and forwards that estimate to York. There is one form per household, for any number of applicant children. The priority deadline for submission is February 1 each year, however we continue to accept rolling applications through spring and summer.
Once submitted to York, the Clarity estimate is reviewed and adjusted using the family's prior year and current federal tax forms, taking into account the higher cost of living in California. The Financial Aid Committee reviews the materials and determines the level of assistance offered. For divorced or separated parents, York School asks each natural parent to complete a confidential Parent Financial Statement (PFS).
