York School is honored to welcome back West End performers Erin Caldwell and Glain Rhys for an immersive residency with our Musical Theatre Repertoire students — culminating in a special gala performance in support of York Performing Arts. Erin Caldwell’s West End credits include Six (UK & International Tour), Heathers: The Musical at The Other Palace, and Pretty Woman: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre. Known for her dynamic vocal power and commanding stage presence, Erin brings firsthand insight into contemporary musical theatre at the highest professional level. Glain Rhys has performed with The Phantom of the Opera and is widely recognized as part of The Welsh of the West End, celebrating Welsh talent in London’s theatre scene. A versatile vocalist and recording artist, Glain bridges classical, contemporary, and theatrical styles with extraordinary artistry. Throughout their residency, Erin and Glain will lead masterclasses focused on audition technique, storytelling through song, industry expectations, and professional performance standards. Students will receive direct coaching from artists who actively work in both London’s West End and the international theatre industry, gaining practical tools that elevate their audition books and performance confidence. Both artists were featured on the concept album of For Tonight, co-written by York’s Performing Arts Director, Spencer Williams — making this return not only professionally exciting, but personally meaningful for our York arts community. The residency will culminate in a Gala Fundraiser Performance showcasing our students alongside our guest artists in an unforgettable evening of musical theatre. Proceeds will directly support York Performing Arts programming and student opportunities. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend a VIP Meet & Greet with Erin and Glain prior to the performance.
