Haley is dedicated to empowering students with the confidence to approach, interpret, and solve scientific problems. She recognizes that the complexities of science can be daunting, but believes that fostering a sense of belonging in the scientific community is crucial for students' learning and sustained interest in the subject. Haley earned her Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz, where she conducted extensive biomedical research. It was during her Ph.D. studies that she discovered a passion for making complex scientific concepts accessible to students. Her research background deeply informs her teaching philosophy, as she strives to provide students with authentic and engaging science experiences in the classroom. Haley's mission is to inspire a love for science and math by making these subjects approachable and relevant, preparing students not just for exams, but for a lifelong engagement with the scientific world. |
