Biography
Originally from Southern California, Ms. Larson has lived for the past 30 years in Las Vegas, NV, where she completed her Master’s program in English Literature at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, and taught for 10 years in the English Department and Honors College. Ms. Larson transitioned to teaching in the Upper School at a PK-12 independent school in Las Vegas for 18 years, becoming the English Department Chair and then the Upper School Director for 8 years.
 
Ms. Larson is a students-first educator and is proud to be at the York School particularly because of its genuine focus on kindness and compassion, and its welcoming and inclusive community.
 
In her spare time, Ms. Larson loves to read and re-read the classics, hike, go to concerts, and discover quirky used bookstores and vinyl shops. She wants to begin work on a novel soon, but has recently become distracted by screenwriting and formulating ideas for a streaming series.
 
Ms. Larson has three grown children: Connor and Parker, who live and work in Las Vegas; and Kyra, who is studying sequential arts at SCAD in Savannah, GA. She also has 4 dogs and a cat in her life.'
 

A lover of the ocean, Ms. Larson is thrilled to be back on the west coast with the salt air, the
mountains and trees, and the cooler temperatures.
