Biography

Maureen McCrone serves as Director of Philanthropy at York School, leading advancement efforts in close partnership with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership. She brings more than fifteen years of experience across private banking and nonprofit relationship management, working closely with philanthropic families, family offices, and trusts, as well as entrepreneurs and C-suite leaders to advance mission-driven institutions.

Her work spans major and leadership giving, annual giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, alumni and parent engagement, and campaign readiness. Maureen focuses on aligning donor values with institutional priorities, translating York’s mission into meaningful opportunities for impact, and stewarding generosity through clarity, transparency, and enduring relationships.

Known for a collaborative leadership style, she works closely across philanthropy, communications, enrollment, and faculty leadership to strengthen donor engagement, expand philanthropic participation, and build strategic systems that support both immediate priorities and long-term growth.


Maureen holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego. She is currently pursuing an MBA and the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation as part of her commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and staying connected to the broader communities surrounding the Monterey Peninsula and York’s global alumni network.
