Meet our Faculty and Staff

Hi! My name is Sarah Stone, and I am thrilled to be joining the York family as Director of Academic Support. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education from Humboldt State University and am passionate about helping students overcome barriers in order to reach their greatest potential.

Throughout my career, I have worn many hats, allowing me the privilege to work in both traditional and non-traditional settings alike. Notable roles have included serving as Director of Education at Sylvan Learning, Instructional Program Specialist in the Accessible Education Center at Gavilan College, and Academic Coach in the Student Success Center at Carrington College. In addition, my time in Special Education led me to spend three years in Applied Behavioral Analysis, where I conducted assessments and created tailored learning plans and goals for neurodivergent clients across classrooms, health clinics, and in family homes. I look forward to bringing my unique perspective to the York population and guiding students as they navigate their own special journeys. 

As a Bay Area native, I have always loved the California coast, so being able to relocate to Monterey is a dream come true! When I am not attempting to mold young minds, I enjoy making art, writing novels, dabbling in Sudoku, discovering new foods, and spending quality time with my wife and son.
