Hello, everyone. My name is Sean Curran. I cherish the opportunity to teach Spanish in the World Languages Department. I grew up in the LA area. I majored in English and Spanish Literature at UC San Diego (Muir College), where I competed on the surf team. In San Sebastian, Spain, I worked many different jobs, taught English and Spanish, surfed, improved my Spanish, and learned Basque.I have also lived and worked in Puerto Rico and in Chile. Upon returning to California, I worked as a subtitlist, interpreter, and editor. I then came to Monterey to study at MIIS where I received an MA in International Policy Studies. Upon graduating, I was hired there to teach a variety of content-based language classes in Spanish and English.I have also taught Spanish at CSUMB and MPC. I live in Monterey with my family, including a dog and cat from the SPCA just down the road. I love linguistics, poetry, surfing, marine forecasting, nature, and martial arts. I am indeed grateful for this chance to guide talented students through the marvels and challenges of learning my favorite language and the consciousness that comes with it.
