Distinguished Global Scholars
Join us in congratulating three new Distinguished Global Scholars: Courtney Hand, Cynthia Ortiz-Naranjo, and Leonardo del Toro. At this Wednesday’s Forum, they presented on their accomplishments and adventures in Global Studies to the York faculty and student body. Courtney spoke about her study abroad experience in Málaga, Spain and the Model UN club she has founded at All Saints Day School. Cynthia spoke about her CIEE trip to Berlin, Germany and her presentation on the refugee crisis at the international MUN Impact Summit.* Leo described how raising money for the Community Partnership for Youth with friends from York led to the creation of his “Changing Lives Foundation,” which went on to sponsor the construction of a school in Nigeria. Their impressive and exciting journeys inspired us all.
