Argentina’s Economic “Tango”
I explore the Argentine economic crisis and the Dolór Blu, an euphemism for U.S. dollar bills that are bought and sold in the “blue (black) market” at a much higher rate than the official exchange rate and used commonly by the mainstream population, tourists, and businesses alike. My discussion of the economic situation in Argentina will center on my experience living in Buenos Aires and personal anecdotes that informed and shaped my current understanding of inflation and devaluation in Argentina and its national and global impact.
