Chamber Choir sings @ Carmel Mission, Palm Sunday Service
11:00AM - 12:00PM PDT
Carmel Mission BasilicaChamber Choir has been invited to perform on Palm Sunday, March 29, at Carmel Mission Basilica, continuing our growing collaboration with the Mission’s music program. Students will perform alongside the Carmel Mission Basilica Choir and instrumentalists under the direction of Dr. Laura Schwingel (Class of ’99), Director of Music & Liturgy. This special invitation offers students a meaningful, real-world professional opportunity: to serve as ensemble musicians within a liturgical setting and to collaborate with experienced performers across generations. Students will engage with sacred repertoire as it is intended—music that functions as an integral part of the Mass, rather than as a stand-alone concert performance—deepening their understanding of context, purpose, and musical responsibility. We are proud to see our students, representing a wide range of cultural backgrounds and identities, come together to contribute thoughtfully and respectfully to this historic space. This experience affirms their role not only as students, but as developing musicians participating in a living artistic tradition. Mass Begins @ 11:00am Carmel Mission Basilica - View Details
